OSCARS 2016: Shameful! Disgraceful!

This was the worst Oscars ever. So political ! It started with Chris Rock insulting the Academy and the film community of being racist. I thought he will speak for 5 minutes and then move on, as Whoopi Goldberg this in the past. There was a controversy about something some years ago ( I don't remember what) and she said "Let me get this out of my chest" and spoke a few minutes about it, but then she proceed to do the show and never came back to anything political. I thought Chris Rock will do the same but no! He went on and on, all night long. Even when we came back from a commercial break, instead of saying "We're back!" said "We're Black!"
"Black people don't have opportunities... is Hollywood racist?.. you bet it is!" etc. Ad nauseam. Then a pre-recorded clip (with the help of Whoopi Goldberg) making fun of the movies competing but adding a black character. Funny? Not at all (a spoof a la Billy Crystal, it was not!). I miss Billy Crystal.

In previous year there was fun, not this year. Just tension. An racist jokes. Like the black guy in orange prison suit with 2 cops. Hey, if they are a lot of blacks in prison it's because they did something. (No black person sitting peacefully at a sidewalk cafe sipping tea has ever been arrested). And he joked about "black guys shot by police on their way to the movies.. " and on and on.
What an asshole he is.

The only fun part was Sasha Baron-Cohen and his imitation of a Rap artist.
Then a recipient/winner saying "Don't vote for big oil, or weirdo billionaire" So I guess he support Bernie Sanders.
Another winner for special effect, don't know his name (Sourse?) but it was 6.56 pm, made an attack on Trump when he explained that he can transform anyone from a savage beast to Donald Trump and added "not much diversity there" implying that Trump and the beast are the same. And he's British so that really upset me. Don't interfere in our politics!

Who is the genius who hired Chris Rock? They know who he is and how he behave. Is the Academy full of masochists? He insult the Academy. "Hollywood is racist" he says. And went on and on the entire show! Each time he opened his mouth it was to attack people. The only non-politic (I think) moment was when he invited girls scout to sell cookies. Perhaps an attempt to infuse some fun; it didn't work, it was weird. And you can't attack and insult people for 2 hours and then expect that by doing one joke everything is fine.
If I were the president of a big movie studio I would have dictated a memo; Our studio will NOT produce any movies with Blacks in it! You can send us scripts but don't have black actors name attached to it, because we will not hire them!
Period!

To accuse Hollywood of being racist is like accusing the Pope to be too Catholic!
Hollywood has been at the forefront of "progressivism" fighting for Blacks, homosexuals, etc.
And now you have Black people accusing Hollywood of being racist. My mother spoke about ungrateful people this way: "They are like (Russian) peasants; you offer them the hand and they want the whole arm!"

Message to Black people: You know you represent only 12% of the population, right? So what gives you the right to behave as if you represent 80% of the population or even 50% ? If that's the case you might complain that you are ignored but since you represent 12% and your representation in the movies etc. is much higher than that, why are you complaining? They have the nerve!

I remember in 1968 when Martin Luther King was assassinated, the Film Industry pledge to give Blacks actors 33% of all roles. You may wonder what is the connection between his assassination and movies? None! But that is what happened. 33% although at the time Blacks  were 10% or so of the population.
And so, we started seeing blacks (the secretary of Mannix was a black woman, the person who pushed Ironside chair was black. So now Blacks complained that these are subservient roles. So OK, the police chief overseeing Starsky and Hutch was a black person. And you saw black judges, black doctors although  in reality they don't exist or are very rare. But the images from Hollywood showed black in various prestigious roles.

So the show had A LOT of black presenters. Half if not more. And the president of the Board of Governors is black; made a speech about the need to reform. And the orchestra chief (or something) was black. He was raised from the platform in the orchestra section.
The most political Oscar ever. Even the VP Joe Biden came to the Oscars. People might say he didn't speak about anything controversial; OK, but still the VP came to the Academy and as far as I know this had never happened before. And during an election year, no less!

I thought the most offending lines was: "When your grandmother’s swinging from a tree, it’s really hard to care about best documentary foreign short.”
"Grandmother’s swinging from a tree"? That's a lie. Sometimes a black person was lynched in the 1910's or 1920's but it was a black man who committed a crime (rape, killing, etc.) and a mob decided not to wait for a trial (or after he was found guilty in court) and  overtook the jail and made their own justice; so they hanged the criminal. No women, young or old (grandmother) was ever lynched.
And black women were not raped on a regular basis as Chris Rock implies. Perhaps a black woman was raped by some sick person but that happens to white women as well. And sometimes a white women was raped by a Black man, hence the lynching.  Also all the above was exclusively in the South, in some states like Alabama or Georgia. In the other 40 States or so, Blacks were not mistreated. And that was in 1915, 1920.. not in '62, '63.
In 1963, JFK ended segregation in Universities in the South (George Wallace opposing it but caving in, etc.) That was the issue in 1963 not lynching.

Chris Rock last words was  "Black Life Matters".... which is a lie:
Black Life do NOT Matters. Never did, never will.
And then we heard some awful Rap "music" where Blacks are chanting repeatedly  "Fight the Power", "Fight the Power","Fight the Power""Fight the Power""Fight the Power" which I think is very inciting/militant, subversive. Incitement to violence. Fighting..the power = white people = fight white people. The song speaks also about Revolution.

Hollywood is not only movies, it's Television as well. So Hollywood is racist? That same Hollywood that gave you your own show? And according to you, the show won some prizes.
The Hollywood who made a star out of Eddy Murphy? And Whoopi Goldberg, The Hollywood that made Ophra Winfrey the most powerful women on TV. The Hollywood who made shows like The Cosby show, The Jefferson, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (whose star Will Smith is now boycotting the Award Ceremony) and many many others. The Hollywood who put a black actor in every drama, sitcoms? I call them the OBP (Obligatory Black Person). Every commercial has it's OBP. (See my other blog "The OBP (Obligatory Black Person)". And when a show dare to not give a role to a black actor, the NAACP gets involved as they did when they complained that "The West Wing"had no black actors and demanded that a role be written for a black actor. The writers shamefully cave in and quickly wrote a Black character into the show. Doesn't it bother anyone that a political organization can dictate what an artist can do?

I expect that from the Soviet Union, I expect that from Nazi Germany (or Iran; same thing) but here in the US? Shame, shame, shame!!

And why the emphasis on Blacks ? They are more Hispanics in this country (17%) than Blacks 12% and yet all you hear is about blacks.
All commercials have blacks.
If anything Blacks are OVER-REPRESENTED in Hollywood! It seems that 50% or so have Black in their commercials, dramas ad sitcoms.
White people represent 64% of the population and so it is OK if Whites are a majority in Hollywood.

Oscars = all white old male?
And what's wrong with that? Do you know that age discrimination is illegal? Black people would love it if all positions are given to young (18-25 y) male or female blacks. Everything else is racist!
They say Oscars so whites
I say Postoffice so Black
NBA so blacks
Crimes so blacks
Rap so black

And then the Director of The Revenant (Alejandro?) said something to the effect that he hopes that "In the future the color of your skin becomes as irrelevant as the length of your hair" which is a stupid statement since the length of your hair IS very relevant. I hate men with long dirty hair (or even clean hair). All the hippies I see from time to time, all these Jesus-wanna be/impersonators. I hate rednecks but I did enjoy it when two rednecks kill a hippy on a motorcycle  (I hate motorcycles) in "Easy Rider".
Length of hair is relevant. And choosing that argument shows your stupidity. It would have been better if you would have said "as irrelevant as the color of your eyes".

In any event, a very unpleasant Oscars and what black people don't understand is that each time they complain, whine, etc they create more Black-haters.
There are more racists today than 10 years ago, and 10 years ago more than 20 years ago. And the blame is entirely on the Black community itself.
More on that in another article soon.

In the meantime check what people are saying on Yahoo and elsewhere and you will see it is very negative.
