“His affection for dogs” Hop! you lost me right there! My respect for him took an immediate 50 points drop! Any person who love dogs, these filthy beasts, deserve contempt. No decent human being will associate themselves with animals and take them to live with you in your home.
I hate dogs! I hate dog-lovers and dog-owners. I don’t think there is one person on earth who hates dogs more than I do. I believe they should be exterminated. Happiness is a world without dogs. I praise the cities that banned dogs: Stockholm Sweden (or is it Oslo, Norway?) Note: This was the case since WWII and lasted decades. It is possible it has changed in the 1990's. And Moscow. I don’t like Russians but on that, they are right. The Chinese see no distinction between a dog and a pig or a chicken and they are right. Only in the West, only Christians see dogs as companions, best friend and now as children, a part of the family! Dog-owners are now pet parent (sic!)!

Loving dogs is a Christian thing. Muslims don’t like dogs, Jews don’t like dogs, Asian don’t like dogs (they eat them as they should because why not? You eat pigs and chicken why not dogs?)
Anyway, in my opinion any human who lives with a filthy, stinking, stupid, dangerous animal like the dog is obviously a stupid person. You cannot be intelligent and love dogs. It is mutually exclusive!
Show me a dog owner and I show you a stupid person or worse an insane person.
I don’t talk about the little dogs that some people have; If you can carry it in your arms it’s OK, they are like cats or like a bunny. Don’t write to me. I’m not attacking you. I speak about medium size and of course big dogs. You are repulsive, obnoxious, anti-social and your dogs should be killed! You should be killed as well but unfortunately in our society killing a human being (even if they truly deserve it ) is a crime. They call it murder; I call it taking the garbage out.
So you know where I stand on dogs. I lost all respect for Mark Levine the day I found out he wrote an entire book about his dog. He and other D.O. (Dog-owners) can be intelligent at time but these dog owners are like their dogs; unpredictable: quiet one minute and killing your baby the next minute!

Yeah? How about the neighbors? Did they enjoy the barking of your dog? If you were my neighbor your dog will be dead after the first day of noise pollution!

Yes, indeed. Even if there is no human suffering I still find it obscene and insane to love dogs more than humans and that is what every dog-lover and certainly dog-owner feel and thinks.
If Charles Krauthammer could write such an article about a dog, he lose my respect.
I’m sad he died but people should not behave as if we lost an intellectual giant. Smart yes but with shortcoming because once again, he was human: Not God, not son of God, not messenger of God. Just a human being with whom I disagree on now three subjects. The last one (dogs) I discovered today when Krauthammer died and is the more disturbing to me.
Just putting things in perspective.
