The site is awful because people can flag your ad if they don't like it. And they are very arbitrary and often wrong.
If you post in the wrong category you will be flagged. I, on the other hand ask what is the big deal? So someone wants to sell his bicycle in say, "Room for rent". If I see this I will say "Hum..why is this here?" But then I will move on because I DON'T CARE! Maybe he pushed the wrong button, maybe he's stupid, I don't know but again I don't care. I just move on to the next ad. But other people apparently are not like that, they will get FURIOUS and insult the guy, send nasty "response" and of course will flag it. OK it's the wrong category but so what? It's not the end of the world.
But more important is when they think the ad is the wrong category but it is in fact the best place even though it is not exactly the right category because there is no category for each issue.
Example: talent is for casting so seeking actors, etc but what if someone wants to find a producer? He put it there as well because there is no category "Producer wanted/offered" But if you put such ad it will be flagged because it is not casting.

But is not because it is in the wrong category, that is just an excuse. The truth is these people, who are losers, feel powerful that they can decide which ad stays and which don't. It make them feel important, strong while in reality they live miserable pathetic life. What normal person will spend hours on CL perusing all the ads to check if they are in the right category or if they say "no pay" (more on that later)? Only stupid people and I guess people with no jobs because apparently they have a lot of free time on their hands.
What is amazing that they are so focus on what is the right category is that it is done by people who otherwise don't give a damn about rules! It is the same people who drive and talk on the phone, holding the phone in their hand which here in California and in many states is illegal or drive and text, or drive thru yellow light (some people thing that yellow means go faster!) or even red lights. Here in LA, everybody does that and so I can say that the CL police, the CL gestapo are the same people who do all these illegal things. So what about people who don't drive? They do not commit any crimes! Well maybe they do not commit the crimes mentioned above but they certainly do something illegal, like letting their dogs bark for hours. Or not cleaning after their dogs, etc.
They flag because they can, it is not because you did something wrong by posting an ad, it is THEM! They like the fact they can bully you and there's nothing you can do. You don't know who they are, you can't sue, etc.
Also any ad where you do not pay the actor, crew, etc will get flagged despite
a) it is permitted to put ads with "no pay".
b) it is part of the nature of show business. Even in Backstage West there are many ads saying "no pay".
It is such a part of the profession that if you want to put an ad there, they ask you "pay or no pay?" which is not something anyone ask if you are looking for a plumber, auto mechanic, electrician, handyman etc But in show business, yes they ask and even CL ask is it pay or no pay.
But I read enough comments from leftist who are against this; they think it is exploitation, they think the person asking for this is cheap and they will insult them either by posting a "RE:..." or by private mail with very nasty, abusive comments. Who elected them "Grand Protector of the Working People"?
The people in the "Crew" category are the worst. Talent is more tolerant but it depends what time day sometimes they are as nasty as the others. Also your ad can be flagged by someone of the staff, someone who can flag you in 2 seconds. It happened to me and others. While flagging by people who don't like your ad takes hours/days (sometimes my ad gets flagged after 2 weeks).
The staff however can flag you in seconds. I remember once I posted a critique of the staff at CL and it was flagged in 2 minutes! Clearly the staff did it.
Ad for massages get flagged. Ads for producer/investors.
Any ads that say "no pay" although some stay and some do not, they are not very consistent and one often wonders "Why my ad when I see others ads very similar to mine and they do not get flagged?" Good question. I guess they cannot delete all (let me rephrase that because the staff can: people can not flagged all of them; too many/a lot of work/too lazy so they pick some, maybe half maybe ⅓ but they flag ads that says "no pay" despite the fact that there's nothing wrong with it. CL accept them like any others newspaper (LA weekly, Recycler, Backstage West, etc ) but there are a few ultra leftists/communist people who read CL and think it is their mission to Clean CL from the undesirable ads. The comments they give when it is a "RE>>" or when they send a private email make no sense, is stupid, but that is who they are; Imbeciles! nasty imbeciles.
Because of this behavior CL is a terrible place. Also people can post 10 of the same ads. They don't go after that ! Too much work I guess. But the staff could delete them in a second. But the staff don't care. CL is monitored by people, the mob, the proletariat, the same people (same mentality that is) who made the French Revolution and the horror it created; it was done by the populace, the ignorant masses, the proletariat, the uneducated, the peasants, the working class, the communists (although it was not named like that at the time but Communism started with the French Revolution and their "Communes"). It is the same ignorant people who put Hitler in power, or later Hamas, or the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, the people responsible for pogroms and other massacres, the people who read and believe everything in The National Enquirer, people who believe Bush is behind the Sept. 11 attacks, people who think dogs are more important than humans, etc. In a word: imbeciles!
I hate the proletariat, the uneducated peasant, the Left, the Ultra-Left, the Democratic Party in the US and all these idiots who think the Democratic Party is too conservative.
Well, these are the people who control CL, who check for people who commit the horrible crimes of placing an ad in the wrong category or posting an ad saying "no pay".
What is it to you? You don't like an ad? Don't answer! But they want to control your life (they are leftist after all). And if they don't like your ad, then everybody must dislike your ad. And nobody should answer your ad.
What a bunch of pathetic losers! Morons! They really deserve to be called A**h@les!
